Growing up on a farm in Kansas I often had to find my own way of entertaining myself. When I turned twelve the path became clear when my best friend and I began making short films using my father’s mini DV camera. We started with in-camera editing, but quickly transitioned to utilizing the family Dell PC to edit. I can remember vividly the first time I cut a scene together and witnessed the full magic of filmmaking, specifically post production. From there, a spark was lit and I began my lifelong journey to tell stories.
I am an Editor of several independent features and shorts (yay, Head Count, Below The Fold, Chasing Gold) with genres focused on dramatic storytelling, strong character studies, and themes of the human condition. I have additionally built a career working in branding at the highest level (Anheuser-Busch, Corona Beer, Planet Fitness, Facebook). Branding has been an incredible benefit to learn the importance of collaboration, story, and tight deadlines.
Throughout my career, the experience gained has helped build me into a formidable Editor. I understand the complexities of the role, as well as the responsibilities of the cutting room itself. My passion and focus is to create meaningful work and deliver the best results for the team. From the technical to the personable, I am always looking for ways to best serve the team and client when it comes to the story. My passion in this field continues to grow and has been a proven asset to filmmakers in meeting their creative vision.
